Frequently Asked Questions

What are your rates?

Christa accepts Aetna insurance or self-pay options as follows:

Individual Therapy: $125/hour

Couples Therapy: $150/hour

Sliding Scale: Reach out to discuss, pending availability, limited spots available.

Are you accepting new clients?

Yes, I have openings for individual and adult clients right now. We can meet in person in Prosper, TX or virtually if you are located in Texas.

I am new to therapy, what should I expect?

Welcome and kudos for trying something new! If you have never tried therapy before it might be nerve wrecking to open up to a stranger about your inner world. The good news is you are not obligated to open up until you feel safe and ready to do so. My goal is to work within your comfort zone to identify what you want to address in therapy and follow the timeline that feels realistic to you.

What does Neurodiversity Affirming mean?

It means that there are natural variations of human experience and that there is no “right or wrong” way to think, feel or process information.  Whereas the standard message in society and in the medical community is that Autism and ADHD are problems to be solved by outside means (medications, behavioral analysis, pressure to mask or fit in, etc.), the alternative (Neurodiversity Affirming) posits that people born with a unique mind should be valued, appreciated and supported so that they can realize their sense of self and purpose in the world instead of feeling like they need to change, mask or hide themselves to meet other’s expectations.

Affirming means, come as you are, you will not be expected to change your core self to meet neurotypical expectations when we work together. It also means there is beauty, joy and strength that should be honored in your identity as a highly sensitive person, autistic person, PDAer, or ADHDer and I would also love to explore and celebrate that with you!

Do you work with kids/families?

I work with individual adults or two adults in a romantic/committed relationship. I can provide options for therapists that work with kids or families.

What does LMSW mean?

LMSW means Licensed Master Social Worker. I have held my license since 2016. I work under the supervision of a clinical supervisor Lisa Delaplace LCSW-S who oversees my work and whom I regularly consult. I am in the process to obtain my clinical license in order to practice fully independently.
